Cadbury confuses….

I’m still undecided on this Cadbury advert. Half of me is puzzled by it (like, what the heck has that got to do with chocolate), but the other half of me has to admire the balls of the advertising company and Cadburys themselves for sticking this minute-and-a-half commericial on. :) Link – YouTube.com Read more →

Two excellent internet finds

Some days you can browse the internet for hours looking for that certain program or utility and never find it. Then, other days you find everything you need and more. Today I found a few things, but I’ll need to explain a little more before I tell you what they are. I’m one of those people who are stubornly sticking… Read more →

Deidres’ Photo Casebook

Yes, it’s back and the acting is still as good as ever… :) If you’re not up to speed with this, it’s a video version of an agony column in a newspaper here in the UK. They use models to simulate the stories that have been written in and, although it may shock you, they’re not professional actors. Check this… Read more →

A website worth visiting :)

Blimey, what’s happened to the ITV website? It’s…. errrmm… Good! You can now tune into (near) live streams of ITV1, 2, 3 and 4 plus there’s streams of all your favourite ITV shows. So, if your other half wants to watch another channel and you want to watch something on ITV, just fire up their site and watch it on… Read more →

Think you’re having a bad day? Meet Tim Brady

If we’re honest with each other then we’ll all admit to exceeding the 70mph limit on motorways. I don’t know anyone (other than truck drivers) who keep under the limit at all times, and that shows daily when I get overtaken on the M6. Sure, there’s people doing 75mph, 80, 85, 90 and probably a lot doing 95mph too. You’ll… Read more →

Local webcams for local people

The ITVlocal.com website has some rather good streaming videos and live webcams. Their cams can be put into full screen and seem to be better quality than the BBC webcams. This is a shot from my nearest big city – Birmingham. It certainly looks much better than it did about 10 years ago thanks to the construction of the Bull… Read more →

Tornadoes everywhere!! Panic!!! AGH!

Today the wind appears to be hitting the headlines. There’s been much talk about “several tornadoes” causing widespread damage. Here’s some pictures of the shocking devastation… A fence panel!!! Blown over!!!!! AGH!!! Quick!!! Call the fire brigade! Wait though, because over in Nottingham there’s worse to come … A branch!!! A whole branch!!! My god, I don’t think I can… Read more →

Ad blocking

This little logo is for Adblock Plus. If you haven’t guessed already it tries to block the adverts displayed by various websites. Now, whilst I can understand people using this and other systems like it on the larger “popup crazy” websites, we’d like to ask that you don’t use these systems on Coolsmartphone.com. Why? Well, we’re not exactly a hugely… Read more →

Oops, I think I’ve lost the plot

Yes, yes, I know. This is like, soooo last week, but I had to post it. Here’s that huge Britney fan crying about the press and how “evil” they were in criticising Britneys’ MTV performance. How dare they, it’s not like she’s got a drug problem or anything is it? It’s disturbing, worrying and a little bit frightening all at… Read more →

Where does your cat go? Find out!

Having been in our new home for a little over a month now, we’re finding that our cat (who you’ll no doubt have seen in every review we did in the last few months) has made herself right at home. We have no cat-flap, so she tends to go out of the lounge window. Don’t ask me why, but this… Read more →

Cheaper car insurance? Yes, it’s true..

Damn it. Don’t you hate it when adverts are actually right ? For ages now I’ve been constantly irritated by confused.com adverts. They claim to go through all the leading car insurance companies and get you a cheaper quote. Now, although it’s months before my insurance is up I finally decided that now was the time to finally see if… Read more →

My current comedy favourite..

Every few years I seem to get hooked on a new comedian or comedy show. When I first saw Lee Evans I figured, “this guy is good, really good”, then he went on to make several DVD’s, more stand-up shows and appear in movies. I remember watching Peter Kay when he did “Live At The Top Of The Tower” way… Read more →

Funny cartoons this way

I’m not a huge fan of comics but I’ve stumbled across two rather excellent websites featuring some rather excellent drawings. They’re not only nice to look at but funny too. If these guys don’t have jobs I’d encourage any card company to track them down and make them and offer. Excellent stuff :) Here’s one I particularly liked, however there’s… Read more →

YouTube deleted me

You may have noticed a lot of YouTube videos aren’t working here on Coolsmartphone of late. The reason is that I’ve been booted off YouTube.com for “Copyright Infringement”. Unfortunately there was one video containing 30 seconds of a Road Wars car chase which I added to the blog some months ago and the programme makers didn’t like me YouTubing it.… Read more →

Stopping in a hotel… for 22 years!

This couple spent a night in their local Travelodge, then stopped there for another ….. 22 years. They’ve spent over 100,000 living there and reckon its’ cheaper than having their flat :) To be honest, they’re probably right and they’ll probably get a better deal with better service than their local retirement home! Goat for the inflight meal then?

Imagine the scene, you’re on a Boeing 757 but it can’t take off due to technical difficulties. You look outside and see two engineers pulling goats in front of the plane and slaughtering them in an effort to make the plane fly again…. Err….. Roast Goat and red onions for the in flight meal then? (By the way, don’t give… Read more →

Lovely, lovely beer. I like drinking beer.

You’re probably all aware by now that Coolsmartphone runs mostly on beer. However, there’s a change happening in our household and suddenly our fridge is a home to fruit, vegetables and healthy food instead of lager. Why this change ? Well, dear blog readers, I’ll tell you more about this in time. For now though, I’ve stumbled across this rather… Read more →

Mobile phones – going down memory lane

Here’s a rather interesting video about the evolution of mobile phones. From way back in 1979, when mobile phones were classed as “radio phones”, to today, where video and fast data connections mean true mobile connectivity, this video shows how things have changed. Anyone remember those “Phone Zone” things from 1987 ? Ahh, those were the days. Those mobile phones,… Read more →
