Our poorly cat – before and after

We have a cat. Her name is Poppy. We’ve nursed her back to full health after she was diagnosed with a skin condition whilst at the local RSPCA. When we first saw her they’d had to shave most of the fur from her face because she’d scratched half her face off. Everyone walking through the cattery simply walked past Poppy,… Read more →

The new Ford Focus, a review..

Last week I posted about the Nissan Micra I’d been given as a hire car. It wasn’t brilliant for the motorway, so I asked the hire car company for a bigger car. On Friday they came through with this – the Ford Focus Titanium 1.8 TDCi. It’s got about 115 bhp and this model costs around 13 grand. Yes, you… Read more →

Ramsay should be ashamed of his US show

I love Gordon Ramsay and his “Kitchen Nightmares” show. I’ve just watched the American version, which follows the same format as the UK original, except… the American Producers have… completely f***ing ruined it in every way. For a start it’s HEAVILY edited…. and I mean HEAVILY. How the makers get away with distorting reality like this is beyond me. Every… Read more →

We’ve found our next home!

I spotted this house in the local paper last night. It’s a computer-generated image because the house isn’t quite finished yet. Located just up the road from me in Sutton Coldfield it’s got 6 bedrooms (yes, 6), 4 reception rooms and 5 bathrooms. There’s even secondary accomodation over the garage and a swimming pool, gymnasium, steam room, spa, games room,… Read more →

I’ve got a new car… but..errmm…

Regular readers to my humble blog will know about the slight accident I had recently. Since the accident I’ve not cleaned my car because, if I do, the mirror (which I’d stuck on with tape) drops off. The guy who came to check the damage and pick it up yesterday found that the car was so dirty he couldn’t even… Read more →

New Polish section at Asda

Here’s the new Polish section at Asda. It’s not really a section, more of an entire aisle really. It’s quite funny pushing your trolley down there as there’s a mix of baffled people who can’t understand the labels and old ladies trying to find the Mr Sheen and Pledge. Read more →

The new Knight Rider – a trailer…

The all-new Knight Rider is just around the corner. Here in the UK I’m guessing one of the billions of channels will pick it up, but here’s a 30-second trailer for the new show. For some reason Kitt sounds like Optimus Prime (Transformers reference) and the car has suddenly become huge, ugly and crap. Shame :( Apparently the Hoff is… Read more →

How to be a bad neighbour by mistake, by me

I want to keep this story fairly generic because I’ve probably annoyed a few people. Last night I came home from work, as I normally do, and – yet again – the son of my next-door neighbour had parked his huge old car outside our house. Emily had parked her car on the drive, so I had no-where to park… Read more →

Keeping an eye on things

You’ll have noticed a few changes in the look and feel of our site of late. We did this over the Christmas break and there may be some additional changes through 2008 which we’ll be getting your opinion on. I’ve noticed a few other Windows Mobile websites doing changes too, with some even passing comment on how our site looks.… Read more →

Jimmy Carter explains who the US should vote for

I’ll be honest here – I’ve absolutely no idea what’s happening in America right now. The voting, election system and all this winning of States etc etc makes no sense and, if it’s anything like last time, the guy with the most votes will probably not win anyway. However, I found this story written by Jimmy Carter, who’s explained who… Read more →

A couple of movie reviews for you..

We watched a couple of films this weekend. The Bourne Ultimatum and Die Hard 4.0. I decided to do a review of both films. – The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) – Fantastic, gripping, gritty, thrilling. – Die Hard 4.0 (Live Free or Die Hard) 2007 – Utterly crap. Now, if you’re going to watch any of the Die Hard movies you… Read more →

Why I love the Aussies.. :)

Aussie car show “Summernats” has got itself into trouble after crowds of drunk blokes surrounded the “car girls” and demanded they flash their boobs. ….over to the Austrialian Daily Telegraph for the pictures… I love this particular pic, I think it sums the Aussies up perfectly. :) Link and picture credit – Daily Telegraph Read more →

Britney goes even further off the rails

Far be it for me to comment on the inner workings of the police in Los Angeles, but I’m still not sure why one woman needs 6 police cars, an ambulance and a fire engine. It’s early days at the moment, and there’s rumours that Britney was under the influence of something. She’s apparently being taken to have “mental evaluations”… Read more →

Filming yourself doing 134mph will get you into trouble

Another YouTube video, another news item. These lads filmed themselves at 134mph on a motorway near Liverpool and now the cops are looking for them. They made several errors… 1) Don’t film yourselves doing it, because if someone gets the footage, you’re in trouble. 2) Don’t put the footage on YouTube. Unfortunately there’s far more videos of people speeding on… Read more →

Look at my dirty pants!

First up I’ve got to apologise. I’ve been looking at my recent blog posts and there’s a lot of moaning and whinging. It’s all very negative and certainly something I’m going to avoid in 2008. But then… …this story appeared…. perhaps it’s just me, but if I had a chip-pan fire and used my manky, stained, fat-lady pants to put… Read more →
