Build yourself a model boat

I moan about stuff sometimes. Those magazines that get advertised with free gifts or things you have to build… I don’t like them. You may have seen them. They usually sell the first edition for 99p to get you interested, then the other editions are a few quid. Here’s one I spotted tonight. You can build this big-ass boat. Nice… Read more →

Cool new camera technology

Come on, you’ve got admit that this is pretty cool. A new camera technology, available from Lytro, lets you take a shot and THEN decide which bit you want to focus on. Here’s a few examples – click on the shot to focus on different areas. There’s a good video of it in action on the BBC. Read more →

Gotta get me one of these…

Ashton Kutcher (that one who’s with Demi Moore) has taken the place of Charlie Sheen on “Two and a Half Men” after he went a bit mental. Anyhow, the people behind the TV show bought him a little caravan to stop in whilst filming.. More pictures at the bottom of this page.. Read more →

FTTC – Huawei EchoLife HG612 Feeling hot, hot, hot.

A few months ago I added a couple of posts about FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet). It’s also known as “BT Infinity” and basically ramps up your broadband speed by moving the exchange closer to your home. How does it do this? Well, BT add some large green boxes in the street. These are connected back to the exchange via… Read more →

Galaxy FM – Not brilliant, I have to say

For some reason I ended up listening to the new National Galaxy FM today. In the morning they have a breakfast show for each region, so I was listening to the Birmingham one. At 7AM they were asking their listeners to “like” a particular Facebook page as they “only had” 79 people. After 30 minutes of talking about it constantly… Read more →

Moral decay – It’s not just the rioters

Yes, it is terrible that certain sections of society believe that they have a “right” to get something for nothing, but we all have very short memories. Whilst we may agree with the MP’s to some degree when they call rioters “thieves” and “morally corrupt”, we’ve perhaps forgotten that MP’s stole from the public purse on a huge scale just… Read more →

Sickening..

The majority of kids and teenagers in the UK are fine, upstanding people. These people, well.. they just sicken me. [yframe url=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=327J3ISiVOU’] More info here Read more →

UK Riots

There seems to be no real reason for these riots. When thugs are interviewed there’s usually some rambling about how “teenagers are being suppressed” or that “we have nothing to do, the Police don’t respect us”. No, I think you’ll find you don’t respect the Police… or other people, property etc. This report from The Globe and Mail tries to… Read more →

The Sun On Sunday – It’s coming..

The phone hacking scandal was terrible. People will be asking questions about News International knew about about. The truth, I assume, is that they knew everything about it, but peopl want dirt. People want sensation. People want to know what’s going on inside other peoples’ lives. A headline will sell a paper. People are nosey. Look at Facebook. Do you… Read more →
