EE and BT Openreach only took a month and a half to fix my telephone line

This is 2015, but for some reason we have a shit system in this country where internet providers and phone providers have to use BT Openreach to get lines investigated and fixed. Now, during a recent fault I was told explicitly by EE (my provider for the home phoneline) that the BT Openreach report showed that an engineer had visited my house and checked the line internally.

This was a lie. However, as EE outsource their call centre, the person I spoke to didn’t seem to understand what I was saying.

My fault was “fixed” by BT Openreach (which it never was) and then the fault was closed by EE (because nobody bothered to check whether the line was actually fixed as they believed the BT Openreach report rather than their own customers).

This process looped round a couple of times and, each time, I got absolutely nowhere with the screen-prompt-following staff from the foreign call-centre, who either thought I was ringing about a broadband problem (I wasn’t, it was just my phone wasn’t accepting calls) or they simply ignored the previous problems.

Anyway, after a month and a half of this completely hopeless service, the line has magically started working again.

Never mind about that then. I’ll just have to suck it up.
